Don't think my wife or I will. Don't see enough of a reason too. I'm already happy with my 3g speeds and phone. I may just stick with os3 and wait til there's a iPhone 4g or something.

Interesting if true. Never know since the phone is not actually out yet. Even still it isn't going to pry $400 from my hands for a better camera and a page that loads .05 second faster.

I'm upgrading. My old 3G had dust under the screen so I brought it to Apple about a month ago and got a brand new one, so it's still in good condition. Selling it on eBay to help pay for the next one.

I voted not sure yet. At this time I can upgrade for $499.00. I guess I would have to go into the store and physically compare my 3G with the 3GS then decide... I have to wait until 7/23 anyway..... but at this time I can get it for the price I stated... maybe once it gets to 7/23 I might be able to get it for less?

I like to keep up with technology but just not sure right now what to do.... in my mind I would like to but then I think why spend the money for so little upgrade?

I decided if it's still something I really want in October, I will get it. My birthday is early October and I will have money then. October just makes sense because that's when I got my 3G and it's not even a year old yet. I will play around with 3.0 until I get a 3GS. 32GB white iPhone, yeah!

I'm not really sure what I want to do yet. I had originally planned on upgrading, until I looked at the service costs. I'm still using my original first generation iPhone and it works great. The best thing about having the first gen, is the plan. I'm currently only paying $70 for unlimited data, 450 anytime, 2000 night & weekend, 1500 texts, and rollover. That plan is now $85 a month with the new 3GS!

What I'm trying to figure out, is if an extra $15 a month (equaling $360 at the end of the contract) is worth the upgrade.

(BTW, I am eligible for the discounted rates)

I'm going to, just going to wait till the jailbreak is ready for it. I'm being optomistic and saying when....not if!

Right now I have 3.0 GM on my 3G, and a stock phone really stinks. So, I want to make sure I can jailbreak the new one the same day I get it.

If it takes a while, then the regular 3G 3.0 should be jailbroken (real soon hopefully!), so I can live with that for a while.

Well as for me, I am gonna upgrade. And only because I have the discount to use. Since, I have moded (jailbroken) my phone. I have a lot of offers for it. I also went to ask about getting it. And, it was a green light. So I made a advance payment for it, and I don't have to stand in line for it.

This poll is yielding some interesting results. Quite a few aren't quite ready to upgrade yet.. If this translates roughly to the general buying public, this result, coupled with pre-orders, should result in somewhat shorter lines on iDay 3 (fingers crossed).

I would imagine the majority of upgraders will be those whose 2G contracts are up for renewal - and that won't be for a few days after launch so you shouldn't see the mad rush there was last year.
Last year there was a very good reason to upgrade, the 3Gs makes sense for 2G owners but if you already have a 3G you must really want the 3Gs to fork out quite a bit of money for a relatively small benefit (for most people).
I will be sticking with my 3G - enjoy your shorter queues!
