I'm one of the few who has no use for texting.
Can I turn the ability to receive messages off?
    Sounds too simple........Kenny S>

ATT would have to block them somehow on your account.......if they will.

What if you used an app like MCleaner or iBlacklist and just blocked all SMS. I'm not certain but worth looking into.

I was just assuming he's not wanting to get charged for sms?? Using those apps would block them from popping up on the phone, but he would still be charged for receiving them.

Although I really dont see the point, if he doesnt use it anyways why does it matter. And you get 200 of them included in the iphone plan anyways (ATT), and if your not on ATT then you wont receive sms unless you have an sms plan.

no.....Texting is not included at all in my ATT contract.
They wanted 5 bucks a month for the first 200 or so.
At 81.00 per month to own that phone .....5 bucks is alot!
11 bucks a month in taxes alone!
Texts are 20 cents each no matter what.

^Then your not using an iphone plan, because they include them with that.

ATT would have to block them.

My suggestion is that if you're having problems with folks sending you text messages; do as I've done, "CALL" them and tell them that you no longer receive text messages; and to please STOP sending them. If the insist on sending them to you; then VISIT them and bring a bag of whoop*** with you when you go.

In reality though, you CANNOT turn off incoming text messages. In regard to using iBlacklist (not sure about mcleaner) won't work anyway, because it only blocks them from being viewed on your phone; it won't block the actual data that was sent to your phone.

    Hope this helps!

I'm on the site right now and texting is NOT included in the 450 minute plan. It's 5 bucks a month for 200 messages

He who asks a question looks foolish for 5 minutes. He who doesn't ask a question remains foolish forever.
