    Hi,

Just got my iphone 4 QTY-2 with a new contract.
All know apple does not sign shsh for 4.0 or 4.0.1.
But Cydia already has my SSH.
    I ordered 2 new phones.
    What do you guys think?
SHould i return these back or ??? I am confused.

    Thanks,
    Nick

I think, if the phones came directly from Apple or your carrier, they look like new, and they're covered by the full warranty...keep 'em. Having the blobs already saved for both of 'em is a bonus.

Apple trying to pass off refurb/like new phones as new phones. Return em, this seems like bull.

I think this is a problem with the SHSH server. My 3GS ran 4.0 for a a day or so when released and I went back to 3.1.2. Today Cydia added a 4.0.1 SHSH for me eben though I've been nowhere near it.
I am concerned someine has used a UDID faker and managed to fool Cydia. I. Just hope it works for me when I need it!

Apple is still signing 4.0.x so that's why you have them.

I also have a blob for 4.0.1 and I never upgraded to 4.0.1. I was also wondering how.

That's because your current firmware version doesn't matter for which SHSHs you can get. When asking for an Apple firmware signature (SHSH file), all you send is your ECID number and which firmware you want to restore to (some other things as well for i4 but still not the firmware version). That means you can ask for the SHSH for any firmware that Apple is signing no matter which version you're on yourself.

so the string in Cydia just gets updated with the revision of the last firmware regardless of you having used it or not? I assume this is because it is showing what firmwares your current SHSH are valid for. That's cool by me, thanks for the info.

Yes. For example with a 3GS phone, Cydia has your ECID number stored and that's it. Then every time Apple pushes a new firmware, Cydia asks for a firmware signature (SHSH) from Apple using your ECID number. The response is then stored on its server and available to you should you ever need it.

So when you've asked Cydia to store them just once, it'll store all future versions as well. Quite convenient

The phones look brand new 100% no marks/scratches on them.
I guess i will keep these nothing to loose as they are under warrenty.

    Thanks,
    Nick
