    Just got my iphone4 up and running. have noticed that the capacity is 14GB, am I right in thinking its ment to be 16GB???
    whats happened to my missing 2 GB

    The operating system takes up space. There's probably headroom for memory swapping as well.

    Also, I wouldn't say "disk space" - the iPhones run off of Flash memory

    Not to mention disk storage is always purposely misleading. It's industry standard that when advertising capacity, you measure 1GB as 1,000,000,000 bytes when in reality 1GB is really 1,073,741,824 bytes (multiples of 1024 instead of 1000). That's why you'll find NO storage medium ever has the advertised capacity.
