After a failed uninstall of siriport, I had to reformat the phone and start from scratch... I have it for the most part back to the way I had it, with just the "nesacary" tweaks. This time around I cannot send or recieve mms.... When someone sends a pic, it's blank and when I try to send one, it shows a blank spot in the history but never actually sends anything.

What network are you on? I'll try to find the APN settings for you. You can try unlockit.co.nz to change your APN settings as usually the most common cause for this is your phone not being able to access the MMS APN.

    OK Here's what to try:

    1. Open Settings
    2. In Settings, tap General
    3. Tap Network
    4. Tap Mobile Data Network
    5. Make sure under the Mobile Data section it looks like this:

Enter values shown in bold type. Only change the Mobile Data section if you have no 3G internet access.

    proxy or try

    (Try either of these APN's)

Leave blank or try [email protected]

    Leave blank or try cingular1

    Your MMS Settings:
    proxy or try
    [email protected]

    MMS Proxy

    MMS Max Message Size
    (Leave this as it is)

Press the blue network settings to save the settings. Wait approx 3 or 4 minutes and try sending an MMS again...

Here's a screenshot from my iPhone with AT&T Settings:

Ah OK somethimes this does happen, my contract Orange UK SIM removes these settings altogether, all my PAYG SIMs seem to have this enabled.

Try opening Unlockit - APN Changer for your iPhone inside Safari on your iPhone, Select Create APN at the bottom of the screen, then select USA and AT&T this will generate a Profile. Once generated please click the Install Now button, you will need to enter your devices passcode IF you set one of these to authorise installation.

Try MMS facilities after this. If you have no MMS still, try rebooting the iPhone and trying again. let me know how you get on and best of luck!

These guys: MMS Settings for AT&T | iPhone and iPad Forums at everythingiCafe may be able to help. AT&T MMS settings - iPhone, iPad, iPod Forums at iMore.com They are also worth trying as well.

Note: The APN Password if you can access this information, is case sensitive and it appears that you have to type it in in ALL-CAPS, e.g. CINGULAR1 not cingular1

It also turns out after a little research that MMS doesn't work properly on some iDevices so your mileage may well vary here.
These guys on the AT&T Forum may be able to point you in the right direction
MMS not working on Iphone 4 - AT&T Community Support

You may need to actually call AT&T and ask them to send you the settings for your iPhone. These arrive as profiles, you simply tap Install to allow them to modify the settings on your iPhone. This should then enable MMS and 3G access.

Well I guess its a start! A SIM swap would be worth checking, hopefully it is the SIM, thats easily replaced and should arrive within a few days.

Awesome keep us informed, if the SIM swap doesn't work try a fresh restore to stock iOS 5.1.1 and test messaging again.
