    Hi,

I have a iphone 4 which runs ios 5.1. I am planning to install 6.0.1 and would like to jailbreak my iPhone. Is it possible? I have been out with jailbreaking stuff for a long time. Please help..

    Thanks

    Naheed..

Yes you can but it's tethered... I'd try to go to 5.1.1 if u have the blobs for it...

    Hi,

Thanks for the reply. How about preserving the baseband? Is that possible with 6.0.1??

My advice is staying on 5.1.1 until the Untethered Jailbreak is released

EVO thanks for the Video and thanks to all for replying to my post.

Well I had not jailbroken my device when I was in 5.1.1. I was just concerned on preserving the baseband for a chance if the baseband can be unlocked in the future. When jailbreak is tethered you loose the jailbreak when the iphone is re-booted right? Does that mean the phone doesn't boot at all until you boot it from your computer or it boots to the original state but looses jailbreak only? Please can anyone explain this tethered jailbreak to me..

    Thanks.

That's correct about tethered. Can't use phone if it re boots or anything. Now they do have a semi tethered which is pretty cool. Lets ya phone make phone calls and messages if I'm not mistaken. Maybe a couple other options.
