I just Bought a new iPod Touch yesterday. 3G, 3.1.3,8gig, never jailbroke it.

Is it possible to downgrade it to 3.1.2 so i can jailbreak it?

    -Put iPod into DFU mode
    -click Shift+Restore in itunes
-choose iPod Touch 2G 3.1.2 software
-now your iPod should be running on 3.1.2 software
-lastly, just use blackra1n to jailbreak. should work like a charm!

Thing is, you do have to download the 2g 3.1.2 file. There is a website here: felixburns.de/iPod/firmware. Download the 2g 3.1.2 firmware from the iPod Touch/iPhone dropbox. It should redirect you to MegaUpload. Download that. I used it on mine, it's safe, no viruses. Put your iPod Touch in DFU mode like shawnroof said by holding down the power and home buttons until your computer beeps, then hold down only the home button for 5 seconds. iTunes should now recognize a device in recovery mode, you may have to wait for your computer to get a driver. Then shift+click restore on windows, option+click restore on mac, find your firmware, click on it, and it will restore for you. Then use blackra1n to jailbreak. It's very simple. Just click make it ra1n. After that, the down side is, whenever your iPod completely runs out of battery or you completely turn it off, you will have to rejailbreak, that is, until greenpois0n comes out.
blackra1n's website is blackra1n.com of course.
    greenpois0n, same thing, greenpois0n.com

Why did you throw your iPod at the wall?

Does this work with the 32gb/64gb models? My ipod came with 3.1.3 and I want to downgrade to 3.1.2.
