    @JJk, try double-clicking on the layer.

    @Bart, just so you know, you can just hit the thanks button at the bottom of the post. That way there aren't double posts of icons and slider and further speeding up the thread.

    Thanks again. I'm using Photoshop Elements 9. Is that why its different? Right clicking the layer I get this:

    click twice on that fx mark to the right

    And i think it's better if You open those psd's in standard Photoshop application

    Click right mouse on the layer and select blending options there You should se Color Overlay

    BTW. What version of PS is that oO

    If I double click the layer it highlights the text to edit the text or to rename the layer, depending on where I double click.

    I get the Style Settings toolbar when I double click on fx. I don't see Color Overlay. I appreciate you guys helping me, PS can sure make me feel dumb.

    Are you using photoshop? If so, and you're starting a new file, make sure you have "background contents" set to "transparent".
