I jailbroke my iPad a few months ago and now it was acting weird so I wanted to restore it. I clicked restore and it downloaded 3.2.2 firmware. But every time I try, I get an error. Sometimes 3014, 3194 or just "an error has occurred" when I try in DFU mode.

I edited the hosts file and added 74.208.105.249 gs.apple.com to it and I don't get 3194 but it says that it was unable to contact apple. I even tried SHIFT+restore.
    I'm using iTunes 9

Some help will really be appreciated
    Thank You

You may not have 3.2.2 SHSH. You may have to update to 4.3.3.

I downloaded the 3.2.1 firmware from this site. Can I do shift+restore with that?

If you dont have the required SHSH no you cannot. You will keep getting errors.

oh Thanks a lot. Really appreciate it.

On a side note, for future reference how do I save these "SHSH"s?

Tiny umbrella does all that for you. No need to be jailbroken.
