I dont have a dribbble accout. But you bring up a valid point.
Dribble makes it pretty easy to contact the members... The person requesting/releasing the screen-rip can get in contact through twitter, deviantart, whatever other information the artist's page has on it.

A good point was made to me not long ago when I made a few icons (for personal use only) from some hi-res images on Dribble. I made the icons first and then told the artist.
He didn't appreciate that and blahblahblah the good point he made by email was that as a professional artist, if when digital art needs to be proven to actually be his work, that gets kinda difficult when that piece of digital art is all over the internet in various forms... wallpapers, icons, t-shirt designs.. who knows what else..
Said artist told me he has no problem at all with me using his stuff for personal use now, so long as I let him know before hand.. I guess he then has an email on record of someone asking him to use his art, should he ever need it. Not than my three or four Jaku icons are gonna cost this dude a job, by no means, but the logic of it makes sense to me.

Not that I'm here to tell anyone what to do of course.

Exactly. And he would be free to do what he wants.

U know landlords (with tennents) here are free to enter any property they own at any time regardless of who is living in it?

Maybe it's different where u are?

As a former Sheriff I will tell you that you are ABSOLUTELY incorrect. A landlord may NOT enter a property being rented even though they own it. Period.

And if need be, anyone can sign up for a Dribble (scout), twitter, DA account (plus more opions depending on the artist no doubt) for free... In five minutes.

Ref: Omg, thats an icon from a paid theme. 

Lmfao. It's a square. With a picture on it. Not credit card details people are sharing..... Geez. People get some perspective. It's hardly life or death....
Surely if someone pays for something then they own that and are free to do what they want with it? Otherwise what exactly are u paying for? Is the theme still the property of the author?? I think not.
I paid for my house and car and clothes and all my DVDs and CDs that I posses. And if I want to show them, lend them or even give them to someone else then I am free to do so because I paid for them.
There is a difference between people "pirating" a theme and simply sharing some artwork which has reused for a different theme. At the end of the day ALL the artwork has came from somewhere originally (For example the original app authors icon) and I'm sure very few icons have been made 100% from scratch.

    My pennies worth. Moving on......
What did I miss??? I went back a few pages and can't figure out where this rant came from...did a post get deleted or something?

P.S. - It's not that hard to make an icon 100% from scratch...so...yeah
