    Is there a way to make iTunes think a iPad 1 is a iPad 2?
    I have a few apps that keep getting deleted as Apple refuse to let them install on the iPad1 but they work fine in it.
    I just need a way to stop the apps getting deleted on every sync with iTunes.

    I bet you could spoof your iPad1's identity, but I wonder if iTunes looks for a software or hardware ID when determining what product it is talking to.. What apps are they, if ya don't mind my asking?

    The 2 apps in question are iMovie and Photoshop Touch.
    Both work fine on the iPad 1 but Apple refuse to let them install.
    There is a patched version of iMovie that works but I paid for it so I want to use the one I paid for not an old patched version.

    If anyone knows how to patch it so it will install that'll be good too. Then I can just patch both then they wont get deleted on sync.

    hmm… Though you have a truly legitimate reason to do so, that may fall under the warez policy. I'm definitely not saying that you are trying to do anything wrong. You may want to try forums that are friendly with *oulous though...

    Doesn't help.
    When you sync with the PC it will delete those apps.
    I sync with the PC a few times a week.

    I got it working and this is how.
    It also works for iMovie too.

    Rename IPA to ZIP and extract
    Edit INFO.PLIST
    Remove the following;

    <key>UIRequiredDeviceCapabilities</key>
    <array>
    <string>still-camera</string>
    <string>armv7</string>
    <string>opengles-2</string>
    </array>

    Save
    ZIP everything then rename from ZIP to IPA

    Install via iTunes.

    You can find a similar line in iMovie and that also installs on iPad 1 now.

    NOTHING WAREZ here as you paid for the app and are getting it to work on your iPad which you also paid for.
