not sure why Saurik released that, it makes nothing, after select the theme(s) and respring, nothing changes.

plus you need to be rooted, and some users don't like to root their devices. maybe when it works it could have some potential but now it's completely useless.

and no, you cannot take an iOS theme and apply it. that won't work.
That's not what I've heard, Schnedi. I've heard that people are already running Winterboard themes on their rooted Android phones.

All Winterboard is is a shell to run HTML on your phone. HTML isn't iOS or AndroidOS specific. Saurik rewrote WB in Android code. Not hard to imagine at all. Any HTML that will run in an iOS shell will also run in an Android shell. Very logical to me.

    Android themes Grant
All it does is allow them to use different forms instead of the one specific one they rooted with
They are not running anything iOS
It needs to be remade/rewritten period.
Why would you need Winterboard to run "android themes", D? There were already several theming tweaks on android to run full "android" themes.

From what King (Who's been in direct contract with Saurik) mentioned to several on the "iOS 6 Manual Theme Guide" thread was that Saurik specifically brought Winterboard to android and that it would run "any" iOS HTML-based themes on an android. I didn't think I misunderstood what was being talked about. Maybe I have.

The only thing winterboard for android does at the moment is run themes meant for different launchers on Android. So it is basically a all in one thing letting you apply themes already present but that would normally require different launchers to apply them. SO you can mix and match kinda. It does not apply iOS themes, not sure if it ever will in its current form. Maybe that is Saurik's eventual goal but it isn't there yet.

Whats puzzling to me is that HTML is HTML, guys. When I grab the folder for UniAW it runs on my MAC or PC or Linux as long as I have a shell to start the HTML. Why would it be any different on an Android phone.

Now - maybe the distinction to be made here is between widgets (html scripts) and icon and elements theming. Android may map its icon names differently or its status bars, etc. That's all part of theming and maybe it's that part of WB theming that an Android can't do yet. Though surely Saurik figured that all out for a Droid version of WB. No?

But widgets from our iOS world should run just as easily on DroidOS as they do on my computer running any OS that can initiate HTML.

I for one am glad it's in the fledgling stages only. We will be overrun here for support once WB is fully functional for Droid. You watch.
