Not to rush anyone or anything but I've just been wondering if the landscape bug on the iPad has been fixed yet?
I recently found about iWidgets and purchased the DB iWidget Pack to support and have been loving it so far!
The landscape issue isn't too much of an issue for me because I use my iPad mostly in portrait but you know...Just wondering.
No sadly not yet, and at the moment the whole site is like a ghost town as we wait for the new Jailbreak.

Maybe MamaJay can have a look at the code as she has her MJSmash working in Landscape and portrait so maybe she has the Key.

Lets see if she picks up on this and has a look for us all :-)

    Thanks

She is using normal widgets as far as I'm aware. It's only with iwidgets that the rotation moves the I widgets

I believe this is correct. Hers is not an iWidget. I know many people are using these on iPads, and I believe there was a work around posted a few times in this thread. Something about placing the widget in landscape mode in a area that is still visible when switching to portrait. Then switch to portrait and just reposition the widget.

    ***Update****
Now available for free in cydia.

So i was playing around with iwidgets and created a widget i helped port to english back in the day for MIUI on android. This widget is based off the original miui weather widget. The text requires the stroke because the snow images have all white backgrounds, obviously white text on a white bg wont work, and as far as i know (and schendi) there is no way to specify text color in certain cases.

before the downloads, i want to give a pecial thanks to schendi for letting me use his LG iWidget as a template to make this one.

As Schnedi said, but I will try put it simpler for you :-)

    1. Find the widget you want to confirm
    2. Copy a Widget.plist from a iWidget you already have. You will find it in the iWidget folder. Copy that and paste it into the widget that you have found that you like and want to convert.
    3. Re name the Widget that you like and want to convert to Widget.html at the moment it will be called Springboard.html or lockscreen.html. So make sure you re name it Widget.html
    4. Make sure that you now place the widget you have converted into the iWidget folder in your file system.
    Var>Mobile>Libery>iWidget

    That's it

It might work when you add something like
    Code:
<object data="absolute path to iWidget.html" type="text/html" style="position: absolute; width: from iWidget.plist; height: from iWidget.plist; left:where you want it on the LS; top:where you want it on the LS"></object>
    into the LockBackground.html.

Might work, might not or needs some fiddling, e.g. z-index
The LS is interactive anyway so even interactive iWidgets should work, it might be that you have to change the iWidget.html a little bit, no big deal as you can save the "edited" version as iWidgetLS.html or whatever and use that file in the above code.
Don't know and can't test, but that's the way I would go.

Brilliant, Rasputin. That would indeed work! But it won't function like an iWidget. Can't move it around, etc. It's a shortcut to getting the object onto the LS though - and that's helpful to us noob modders.

What's up Ras? Nice to see you poke your head in here once in a while.

This is basically the "Piggy Back" method, not really an iWidget enhancement. The code would have to be re-written, but I'm still not sure if it would be able to activate it like it does from the SB.

That works but not like adding them to the springboard. Can't be done that way on Lockscreen.
And it will only work with iWidgets that don't have options built in. The Lockscreen can't read the Options.plist do you would have to add the config settings into a js and put that in the widget.
I've done a few locks that use object data to load the widget from iWidgets folder on the lock but no way to select them from a window and add at will.

True, LS is different to Springboard. Springboard you select which iWidget you want on what page and where you want it. No such thing in LS.
With the above code you are stuck with just one iWidget on the LS, unless you edit the path to select a different iWidget.
However there is another way to select which iWidget you want on the LS without editing code each time. Has not been done yet and is therefore only theoretical.
Do you remember Attachment 616051, original post.
This is database driven or if you want a graphical "config.js"
If the database includes the path for the widgets and their size as well as the values for the position on the LS, it should be theoretically possible to select and position any available iWidget - as long as it is in that database - on the LS.
