Thanks, Simon! So the app is called "Resize Sense"? Is it an iOS app or MacOS app?

My own question there begs another question.. In the general.css file would we then still leave the WPone and WPtwo height and width settings set to 100% after we did our cropping down to 1600x900?

Thank you for the advice MJ. I fear my phones problems go way beyond the my location tweak.

I feel your pain, McCooper.. I'm having major issues with my phone too. Where is the Redsn0w restore to 6.1.2 like we had for restoring to 5.1.1 last year at this time. That's what we really need. JUST to get a clean install... oy...

We might have had one if our blobs weren't screwed up. Then again, I don't think it matters for the 5

You mean the massive Cydia auto-storage of Blobs debacle of February '13?

But did Redsn0w actually develop a tool for 6.1.2? I didn't think they did.. but I could be wrong..

    EDIT:
I just figured out that if I just choose the rectangle proportion I like best of MJ's original 2048x2048 pic to 2048 x 1152 - and crop it to that size - then I'll have the same aspect ration as 1600x900. This is a rectangle choosing and then crop of the original NOT a 'RESIZE' - which does all sorts of stretching and --yuck...

First -- You need find your screen resolution.... in my case 1600x900.. and then figure out the percentage 900 is of 1600 by dividing 900 by 1600 = 56.25%. then multiply that by the width of the original photo. 2048x 56.25% = 1152.. So we need to make 2048x1152 sections of the original photos to assure no stretching or collapsing happens.

Next -- set your rectangle chooser tool in any image editor to show you pixels.. and drag the tool across the rectangle portion of the image you like the best.. until it reads 2048 x 1152.. This will now highlight a rectangle portion of the original square image.

Last -- Choose CROP from the edit window and then then resave this new image over the old one. Relaunch LiveWallpaper and MJ's theme and VIOLÁ -- you have an image portion of the original that you like and that's in perfect aspect ratio to your computer monitor with no stretching.

And I figured that out all on my own.. I was using Graphic Converter as my editor - though I also own PhotoShop now..The free tool GIMP will work just fine too.

Sounds great! Still not quite 16:9 aspect ratio - but darn close.

Nope, seeing as how Mac laptops scale 16:10, setting up as 16:9 would never do with my picky eyeballs.

MJSmash for Mac updated. All new 2880x1800 (MacBook Pro Retina) sized wallpapers with file sizes reduced as to improve CPU and RAM allocation. Auto scaling fixed, so walls display properly regardless of the resolution of your screen. (Thanks, Ian) Completely new wallpaper pack.

    All Intel-based Mac are supported.

For more info, see the first post of the MJSmash thread.

Still getting the mismatched wallpaper sizes on my retina macbook pro MJ with this latest version. I can still fix it fine by changing the values of the wp containers to 100% as Ian suggested, just wanted to let you know.

    Jess,
The link in post #910 is to the same file as last time. All the images are still 1280x1280 and square. Have I missed something? I tried link in Post #1 and the one in #910. Downloaded it twice now and checked all images.. They're the same as last time.. Is the link wrong? I'm sure that's why Simon and I still had to change the general.css file to the 100% height and width.

    Well ****. Let me look.

OK, I reuploaded it three times and then downloaded it, but each time the download was NOT what I uploaded..Must be some way copy.com caches things... Anyhow, I changed the file name of the zip, not the lwpp so the theme will still rewrite the old one.... and the new link is below. I just verified this...

    DOWNLOAD MJSMASH FOR MAC HERE

I also updated both the original post as well as the first post.

Also, I may as well share a glimpse of what I am now working on for our windows users. I have to give Jenn most of the credit on this one, as she ported the hourly wall code to RainMeter in the first place... I've been running a variation of this on my work PC for nearly a year.

Yes. I've had it. Sitting in a drawer and forgot about it. And as far as widget weather goes, I'll likely wait to see what the iOS 7 JB brings before I do any kind of updates at all to any iDevice versions of MJSmash. That's why the computer versions. Something to kill time with and keep the coding skills sharp and keep smash familiar. I think I can quote that JavaScript symbol by symbol, call by call now.
