    Use the Folders method.

In the root of your theme, create a folder named 'Folders'.
In it, create yet another folder named 'SpringBoard.app'.
In that, include your Newsstand icon, 57x57px, and name it 'NewsstandIconBackground~iphone.png', and a clear 57x57px png as 'NewsstandIconBorder~iphone.png'.
Select your theme again in WinterBoard and respring in WinterBoard.

The theme in my posts is 3 4 All, by Sk37cH.

The numerous versions released, and infinite versatility, beats IconOmatic mods. By quality.

I was able to change the icon on my 3GS running iOS 6.1.3 by using the "bundles" method.
