    Does anyone know where the "Enter Passcode" string for the lock screen is?

    I tried com.apple.SpringBoardUIServices / en.proj / SpringBoardUIServices.strings / "PASSCODE_ENTRY_PROMPT" = " "; but to no avail. It works on iOS 7, but I see no change on 8.1.

    You're in the right place but it's under:
    "PASSCODE_MESA_ENTRY_PROMPT" = "Touch ID or Enter Passcode";

    That's assuming you're using a device w/ TouchID

    You don't have .theme at the end of Z8 Main

    Needs to be: Z8 Main.theme

    Makes no difference on my end.

    Also, why is your 'stash' folder inside a 'db' folder? Just curious where you're getting the path from.

    If you restored your phone from a backup that had used this Z8 Main theme, are you sure you're editing the 'correct' Themes folder??? A backup will save a previous Themes folder but Winterboard will create a new one after restoring.

    I just looked into that. var/stash and library/themes both end up at the same place inside that db folder. I did restore my phone from a backup but then I was using a "Z7" theme (Z so it's at the bottom of the list and 7 for iOS version). I had that theme saved on my computer, and have been recompiling for iOS 8 on my Mac.
    I just created a new "Passcode.theme" using only the string file and still nothing.

    So I assume that you've been using that folder to update things and those are applying w/ Winterboard, just not these strings?

    What happens if you put something inside the string quotes? Does that show up?

    And how about permissions. Mine look like this:

    Lastly, try adding my folder to your theme to see if it worx:

    Yep knowing several methods definitely is best.

    I'm not quite knowledgeable of these commands myself.
