This is for all those people running OS X and sad that nobody has made a guide for them...

No copmuter needed; go to jailbreakme.com and click "Install AppSnap" at the bottom of the page. Safari will crash and you will see text and the spinnig wheel of death on your home screen. In under a minute your iPod should ask you to "Slide to Unlock." Installer should be on your Springboard.

First you will need to download the 1.1.1 fand 1.1.2 firmwares for iPod. Some reports say it downloads improperly through Safari, so do it in Firefox. The final icon should look somewhat like a lego. Search for a link; I am not sure if it is legal to download or not and therefore will not post a link. Check out ipodtouchfans.com for more help.
    Now download this file.
Put your iPod (any firmware) into DFU mode by following these instructions:
Step 1. Turn off your iPod.
Step 2. Hold down the power and home button.
Step 3. When you see the Apple logo, release the power button but continue holding the home button down.
Step 4. Open iTunes and wait for it to tell you that its in restore mode.
iTunes will tell you that you need to restore your iPod. Click OK. Then, hold down Option and click restore. A window should pop up. Navigate in the window to the 1.1.1 firmware you downloaded, then click OK. Wait...
Now follow directions for 1.1.1 jailbreak.
Next, in installer, install Community Sources (under sources), then install OktoPrep.
Penulatimately, in iTunes, Option Click UPDATE. Select the 1.1.2 firmware you downloaded. Wait...
Finally, open the jailbreak.jar file you downloaded. Check the box that says "Install SSH." Then click Jailbreak. In about 5 minutes you will have jailbroken 1.1.2.

Make sure you are running the 1.1.3 firmware. Download ziPhone for Mac OS X. Select "Jailbreak."

Same as above; just be sure to be running 1.1.4.

The iPhone apps are availible in all of the firmwares. You will need to add a source. However, I do not support the illegal downloading of anything and will not post the repository. Find it yourself.

And by the way, jailbreaking is not illegal. It only is if you download ROMs or the free app pack (Mail, Stocks etc.)

I am Olim. We are Olim. And we just did this- together!
