What is the latest version for Windows to Jailbreak iPhone 3g?

    I used redsn0w_win_0.9.6rc16 to jailbreak my iPhone 3g, loading Cydia 1.1.6.

    i. iOS version 4.2.1 (8C148)
    ii. MODEM FIRMWARE BASEBAND; 05.15.04
    iii. iPhone 3g
    iv. Jailbroke with redsn0w_win_0.9.6rc16 – using iPhone1,2_4.2.1_8C148_Restore.ipsw

    1. Then I “thought” at the time the way to Unlock was to load SAM (Subsciber Artificial Module), and follow directions there?
    2. And here is where my confusion started because I ‘thought’ 0.9.6rc16 to be the most current version, yet I find a bunch more versions…
    a. redsn0w_win_0.9.10b1
    b. redsn0w_win_0.9.14b1
    c. redsn0w_win_9.6rc19

    I think my critical question is: Is there a version of redsnOw that not only Jailbrakes my OS, but ALSO, UNLOCKS THE CARRIOR?
    And, is it safe to go back and repeat a jailbrake?
