    hey guys i found an iphone, it had water splashed and what not on it, i let it dryed out for a few days, i then decided to plug it in, and all i am getting is a red battery logo with low batery, i let it charge over night, then i unpluged it and still phone will not turn on, on its own, i then decided to plug it into the computer and put it in dfu mode, i tried recoverying it on one computer with windowx xp i get error message 1604, then i did it on windows vista and i got error message 2005, any ideas, should i trash it or try replacing the battery?

    Sounds like toast. But the only way of finding out is by opening the phone and probing all the internals to see where the shorts are at.

    one1 (a member here) can/will do it for you, he is very good and has the right equipment.

    The plugs connecting the flex cable have gotten melted from the dead short. You can replace the flex cable and take a lot of patience to clean the micro size plugs one by one until it has connection again. Not for the newb to be doing though. Better have skills.
