I currently use a Canon IXUS 980IS for my digital photography, yesterday I had both my 32GB 3GS iPhone and camera connected to my laptop and I wondered if a simple female type A to 5 pin mini B USB converter would alow me to plug the iphone into the camera?

What I mean to say is would it work, doubtless it's physically possible to make the connection but would the iphone be able to access the camera's filesystem?

It would make my life so much simpler to be able to just upload pictures from my camera to the internet without having to use my laptop.

Obviously my first concern is that I don't damage either camera or iPhone. So I thought I'd better ask someone first.

What do you think? Recipe for disaster?

Apple iPod Camera Connector - Apple Store (Thailand)

One of the reviews claimed it did not work on his Touch, but the concept is there...

I think it would certainly possible, someone would just have to develop an app for that.

    Hope this helps.

That product was designed for the iPod Video. Unfortunately it is not compatible with the iPod Touch or iPhone.

I want to believe .... The truth is out there...

But seriously, my first concern is that I won't damage either camera or iPhone by physically connecting them.

    What do you think?
