    I dropped my iphone on the ground about 6 months ago when it was raining and the phone has worked perfectly until now. If I turn on 3G I get no service. If I turn off 3G the phone works fine on the Edge network. I took it up to the Apple store but I guess the wet ground tripped the water sensors so I'm out of luck on a under warranty replacement.

    I've replaced screens on iphones so I know a bit about working on them so my question is: is there just a 3G module that needs to be replaced or is the mother board on the phone fried? I would like to fix it myself if possible but at least Apple offers the $199 replacement if not.

    AT&T. I really don't think the problem is water related but you never know. everything works perfectly fine except the 3G which doesn't work at all.
