    Hey guys i have an acer Aspire 5532. Im having troubles with it. When i turn it on, lights come on but the screen doesnt show up. Also when i turn it on. I hear the fan go for about 2 secs then it goes off.

    Any help would be great thanks.

    Could be either a bad screen...well their is a piece that it goes connected to, I forgot the name, but it usually goes bad and not the screen let me research

    My gateway did this and my motherboard had burnt up so hopefully that's not ur issue it may be a bad screen or the connection for the screen

    Try removing power cord and battery, hold on button for 1 minute. then plug in power cord and try to turn on. This will reset the EC and clear any residual power in the device.

    Onboard Video chip prolly toast..Do you have another monitor to try on..? Does it have a secondary video output if so try it instead..When the pc turns on the fans "over rev" then slow down this is what you could be hearing..

    No. I'm gonna send it in to this guy who repaiirs computer and all that. But ya the fan turns on then like two sec l8r there no noise

    Ihad something like this happen on my aunts desktop. It turned one if the memory sticks went bad and the pc would turn on but than shut off.when I pulled them out one by one I found it start up and that's how I found the problem.

    Man did I type that bad sorry it's been a long day at work. I started to pull out parts of the computer like video card than start it up. If it dosent but that back in and remove another part till it starts up. It dosent sound like the hard drive cause it would show a error on the screen and would start up in post. Ive had a few bad hard drives before
