Im gonna fix it my self,

can i remove the lcd from my 2g iphone,
and make it work in my 3g just so i can use that?

    No.

But an LCD for a 3g is cheap, less than $30 on ebay.

    If i get the lcd,
all i have to do is install right?
I dont have to melt the glue off the digitizer or anything?

The digitizer/glass is a separate part from the LCD, it screws onto the screen frame which the glass/digi is glued too.

I can swap an LCD in 5 minutes start to finish.

So does a white, fully responsive screen, with green and purple bars vertically sound like a broken lcd?
