Sounds like the LCD & possibly the batter or charging port was damaged in the repair process to me. I would replace those before looking for a new motherboard. Those tend to be only about 50 dollars less expensive than a functional iPhone.

I'm 100% sure it's the motherboard and yes I know the charger cable has a problem ordering a new one next week... probably just gonna sell the phone for parts and buy a new one..

I have a factory unlocked iphone 4 with no cell service. Background: It worked fine until my friend replaced the screen. Wifi works well. I took it to an unlock kiosk where the tech tore it down and re-seated all the connectors. Even with his SIM installed it doesn't receive cell service. The tech thinks the motherboard was broken when the screen was replaced. The phone is fully functional except for no cell service.

The odd part is my factory unlocked phone will receive T-Mobile service when I am very close to the repeater but anywhere else, nothing. Is there a way to determine what is wrong with this phone?

    Thanks

I think you are right! Did a search on youtube with your suggestion and found an example of exactly the problem I have. I'm not skilled enough to do the solder myself. OR at least I don't think so. How hard is it and what type of solder/soldering iron do you recommend?

Update: It was a no go with the induction coil. I took it to a 3rd party tech service who tore it down. The induction coil was in place. He figures it is the motherboard piece that the antenna connects to. Tried everything but to no avail, still no service. (I showed him the post here, describing the repair). I guess I have a iTouch now.

Do you guys recommened sending it to the service in FLA that will inspect it?

During reset it is possible to observe an inscription on the screen

Also It is observed as strong heating around the processor on back part under a back cover.
