I bought it from focus supply, with props to cowboy leading me in the right direction. If you have a lot of patience its not too bad, give it a try!

all looks very good question for the folks with the colored aluminum frames. does the paint come off easily if the phone is bumped or dropped?

Pre-assembled midframes are easy to work with? It's just a matter of transferring the parts over, right?
Also, when I do a red conversion for the iPhone 4, the red home button is usually very loose and is fairly transparent (because you can see the flex cable glued from the other side). Is this normal or is it a cheap quality home button? It's frustrating as heck!

Sounds cheap to me. Shouldn't be doing that if it's high quality. Where did you order it from as I'm planning to do a red conversion for my 4 as well, and might go with a preassembled midframe too?

I believe the electroplated ones shouldn't have this issue and should be just like the OEM one. I'm looking at a matte black midframe similar to the one below, and would love to hear some feedback from other people in terms of durability of the finish? If it's as durable as the OEM one, I'll most likely be getting one in black. I just hate scratches and flaking from cheap quality parts.

Heres some more pictures of the black 4s mid frame, Sorry my photo skills just stink. So far its holding up pretty well, there a tiny tiny small chip of paint but barely noticeable. The signal strength does seem to be effected but only slightly.

^^Is yours glossy or matte? Kinda hard to tell from the pics? Also, when you say signal strength is slightly affected, do you mean like you get one less bar in similar areas than before?

It's kinda hard to describe its not super shiny or glossy but there's a slight finish to it. In some areas where my service was already poor I sometimes get no service but in general my service has only been effected in areas where I've had poor service in the past

Does anyone know if there are any oem white iPhone 4 (gsm) backplates out there which don't have the Apple logo on them. I would love to see what a completely clean back would look like on a white iPhone 4.

If anyone has any pics, I would greatly appreciate it!
