Hello MMI, I have a iphone 4 that was working fine then the mic stopped working. I switched it with a working one from another iphone and it worked fine for a day then it stopped working. I dont know what to do and would really appreciate any help or suggestions.

it could be your top mic that is making the bottom mic turn off. Might try replacing the volume flex ribbon cable.

Just changed the power flex and it seems to be working fine , lets just hope it stays this way. Thanks Cowboy

On another note, I've had a a few proximity sensors stop working when I swap screens any tips for that? I've darkened the dark spot on the screen but it didnt help.

when you replaced the power flex , on the sensor itself , there is a small squere like hologram sticker ...... you need to move it to the new flex.
without this it will not work for you ( the sensor i mean)

For the proximity sensor issue I've found that if you color the black part on the back of the screen with some magic marker that it will most likely do the trick. In fact, I always color it when I'm doing AT&T iphones (not as many issues with cdma and 4s) just in case. Haven't had an issue in months. I've also upgraded to some better quality screens now though so that could be a reason why too.

i already darkened it , I used a permanent marker. You used a magic marker?

It was happening before I swapped the flex, I only swapped the flex to fix the noise canceling mic.

Sorry about that. Read right over it. Have you tried putting a piece of clear tape over the sensors and coloring it black with a sharpie. Dont have to do it too much but make sure it's fully covered. I've had to do that before too

I know this might sound pretty sketchy but I saw a YouTube video of someone placing a small piece of cardboard under the backplate near the dock connector. I actually tried it on my brothers IPhone 4, had to try a couple different thicknesses of cardboard but it actually work. I know it's a little ghetto but his phones been working fine so far.
