Ok so my son has a iPhone 3GS running iOS 6.1.3 which keeps randomly entering DFU mode

    It's unlocked but not Jailbroken

After googling the problem I found that it could be a battery issue.

I then had the battery replaced.

Some suggestions said that it could be corrupt iOS software.

I've set up as new several times via iTunes and icloud. Last night I did a DFU restore and installed a back up from icloud

Other suggestions talked of a rogue app that the phone did not like.

The last time I set up as new I did not install any apps or but a back up on, apart from facebook, whatsapp and flappy bird(hate this game)

When it does randomly turn off and I plug it into the PC and start iTunes it detects the phone in a DFU mode

If I hold down the home button and the on/off button for 20 seconds the phone restarts as normal

Help please any ideas to solve this problem

Do you have any video of that? I’d love to find out some additional information.

No video. Turns out the problem was the silicone cover which was causing the phone to overheat.
