I've read that before bro. Very useful but I meant like unlocks and stuff in general. I'll have to get on top of it soon lol

I'm new to forum and looking for a little help please. I have a 3GS with 5.1.1. According to what I read, I should be able to j/b with absinthe. I previously used the latest version of redsn0w when I j/b before. My issue is that my phone is getting ti the 2nd stage and then timing out. No error message, just says timed out and will not go any further. Any thoughts, suggestions or ideas would be greatly appreciated. Thanks

You can give the latest redsnow a try. Right now, Almost every jailbreaking tool works with 5.1.1

I'm not sure about the timing out process as I jailbreaked by 3gs on 5.1.1 using the latest redsn0w and it works just fine

Thanks Celeron, I'll try that tonight. It actually was timing out using absinthe. I was hoping absinthe worked since that stated it was untethered vs the tethered break I was using with redsn0w. Will let you know my results

Do you have another computer to try it on? (Sorry if this has been suggested before, I seem to have lost track of what is going on here).

Hasn't been suggested yet Annie lol. It could always be a bad USB port or something so there's nothing wrong with trying a different PC.

Or a different cable too. That'll definitely isolate the problem.

Yah if changing computers doesn't help, it has to be the cable.

Or worse, the dock port. But hopefully it won't come to that...

Definetly don't want it to come to that. It's a costly repair too if you're not under warranty.
