Just of bordom I got on Craigslist and searched for iPad. There's a few dozen just here in Austin for sale... but the asking price is on average of $150 ABOVE retail. I don't get it.....

Probably people that were trying to hedge their bets in case there was a mad rush and they were hard to get your hands on like the iPhone.

Possibly... but you'd think with the Apple Stores still having stock they'd hold off perhaps... weirdos.

Muh, same happens with every new release like this, always someone trying to screw someone else. I think its retarded, give it a week or two and the stores will be filled with them.

Yeah but most of these ads are "local and cash only" so I think like cpjr said... people just trying to take adv of other people.

Yeah but like Pos79 said, its craigslist and local. Now ebay will be a different story.

Craigslist is a free ad listing site, cant buy onsite but contact the buyer, so all transactions are generally in person, etc etc. You can find deals but you gotta sift through a bunch of crap and watch your back.

I bought a 32gb 2nd gen ipod touch on there a few days ago for $60, broken......but I can fix and the part is $12

I'm not surprised really. Considering some analysts expect Apple to get close to selling out of their stock of Wi-Fi only units, people are probably trying to cash in and make profit somehow. Like everyone else said, they simply do this with every new big thing.
