What the heck is the problem with not being able to charge my iPad with my PC?...says, "not charging?" This is VERY annoying!!!! Anyone have a workaround?

    Thanks!

This has been mentioned a dozen times since the 3rd. It will charge very slowly from a standard USB port but only when in standby mode. The second the screen comes on it says not charging. If you plug it into a high power USB on late model macs and some new PCs it will charge while in use. Normal USB ports deliver about 5v of power while the standard charger that comes with the ipad is double that.

    Thanks for the reply....

That really sucks though! Oh well, I still love it so far. Now all I got to do is convince our I.T. people that we need wifi here at the office; being that I only have the wifi ipad.

    Thanks again!

    It's not voltage, it's current.

Charging an iPad takes about 1.5A @5V.
You get maybe 400mA from a normal computer USB port.

I think it charges no matter what. I remember having it plugged in while watching movie, the battery meter still went up even thought it says "Not Charging".
