In the iPhone 4 SDK are possibilities found to record videos with a higher resolution then usual. The iPhone 3GS uses a resolution of 640x480 (VGA) for recording videos. De settings of iPhone OS 4 gives the impression also 720p (1280x720) will be added:

    Code:
    AVCaptureSessionPreset640x480
    AVCaptureSessionPreset1280x720
According the rumors the next generation iPhone will get a 5mp camera, which is easily able to record videos with a higher resolution. The name iPhone HD is already around for awhile, although, with 720p youc an't speak of Full HD.

I expect Apple will tell us more about the new iPhone between 7 and 11 June, during the Worldwide Developers Conference (WWDC) in San Francisco.
