First column is the prices of the iPads in the UK, second column the price in the USA. Third column is the US price converted at today's exchange rate.

A girl at work got one from the USA and paid a 50 premium - it still works out cheaper than the UKs rip off price!

You can do this for any tech
    product. Apple isn't in charge
of exchange rates, and it's been debunked already. See other threads

US prices do NOT include Sales Tax and UK's include 15% VAT. Also shipping costs.

Im sure I could have saved $20,000+ if i purchased my Aston Martin over there

The exchange rate used on the iPad is a lot worse than for iPods is my point.
iPods are only marginally cheaper in the USA whereas the iPad is significantly cheaper.
I guess I was just expecting them to use a consistent exchange rate.
In case you hadn't noticed VAT went back up to 17.5% on 1st January and you're probably less likely to nip over to the states and bring an Aston Martin back in your hand luggage and cars are cheaper over there because they are all faulty, that's where they send the ones with the steering wheel on the wrong side....

I would so be smashing up some cars in Britain. You figure that after all these years they would realize that they are on the wrong side of the road!

Why not just have someone send you one from the U.S. ?

I heard that in Ireland they are going to change to driving on the wrong side of the road - but they are going to do it gradually, Lorries one month, cars the following month and motorbikes the month after that....

At the moment I can't afford even the US price for the iPad, but when I do get one it will be from the States.

Hahahaha LMFAO that was classic Sir Confucious, love that reply
3G vs 3G'S' is like comparing a standard BMW to an 'M-Tech' version of the same car. They pretty much look identical, but it's whole 'nother beast beneath the shell.
The 'S' is for 'Sheer' Power.
