I just bought the categories SB app and I still get the small center box that i have to zoom into??? Did it just update the actual folder? Because when i go into each of the category folders it looks great... but the actual app still has the small center box.

The app you talk about is Categories. Nothing has changed with that. The "Categories" app is an iPhone app, not an iPad app, so when you open it, you will have a normal iPhone-sized window, which I guess is what you are calling "the small center box." You only use that app to create your categories, so frankly, it really doesn't matter what size the app is.

What was updated is the CategoriesSB app. The latest update, as mentioned, now fully supports the iPad. Hence, any categories made will now look the correct size on an iPhone or an iPad - meaning, full screen.

Thanks for taking the time to explain this to the rest of us
3G vs 3G'S' is like comparing a standard BMW to an 'M-Tech' version of the same car. They pretty much look identical, but it's whole 'nother beast beneath the shell.
The 'S' is for 'Sheer' Power.

Oh - I should mention - landscape DOES work in categories with CategoriesSB installed - but, when you open a category folder, it won't rotate after opening. If you open a category in landscape, it is landscaped. If you open a category in vertical, it stays vertical.
Thanks for the heads up I didn't realize landscape was working. I'm having a problem with background in CategoriesSB. Is it suppose to be clear? I'd like the standard black background inside of my folders, but I can't get it to work.

    • Open Categories (the app, not a created category folder)
    • tap "Manage Folders"
    • tap "Edit" (in the upper right corner)
    • tap the blue arrow on the right side of any category
    • then turn off "Use Background Image"
    • tap "Apply to All Categories" at the top
    • respring and you are done

Thanks for the info. However I've tried those steps and they still don't work. The background of the folder continues to be transparent. The info icon in the edit menus for categories states that I need a background-portrait.png and background-landscape.png in the folder. When I look at the category folders using ifile, I don't have those pngs.

All of the information you are looking for is in the info file for the Categories app. Frankly, I don't know why you would want black background. In all my Categories, the background is the same as the background on every home page, and that's fine with me.

Using iElegance theme which has a giant clock widget on the home screen. So when I rotate in landscape I have a sideways clock. A black background would eliminate that at least when using categories.

This is awkward, it's working perfectly for me.

And how is your background when you go to landscape BEFORE you open a category?

Here is the info on CategoriesSB 1.7
