No shortage of companies have produced third party accessories and compatible products for Apple's iPhones and iPads. But, until now, the Fisher Price brand hasn't been among them.

If you haven't seen this in stores yet, you will very soon. It's the new Fisher Price baby bouncy seat that includes a special holder for an iPad.

Fisher Price apparently thinks that little ones are never too little for technology. And now they can bounce their hearts out while enjoying the content or interactive apps that Mommy and Daddy download.

The Apptivity Seat for iPad isnít a prop that was cobbled together for a Saturday Night Live skit spoofing those parents who shove iPads in their toddlersí faces. Folks this is for real. Seriously.
"Before you get all riled up, you need to know that Fisher Price isnít marketing the Apptivity as a way for 1-year-olds to watch the latest episode of Modern Family or to play Angry Birds," SFGate reported Friday. "The toy company intends parents to use apps that are suitable and appropriate for infants and toddlers, such as programs showing soothing nature scenes and black-and-white images that stimulate growing brains."

As of this writing, the iPad-compatible bouncy seat retails for $80.

Being able to comprehend on your own what someone means is fundamental as well

he's saying why does a toddler need a fricking ipad

    which is ridiculous

Maybe someone owns an iPad and wants to play a video on it or put music on it. I'm sure you wouldn't have to buy a new iPad for the toddler.

I needed this 11 years ago. I could have played audio and video subtlety designed to shape my newborn's mind to accept her parents as the ultimate authority -- without question -- and to instill a desire to serve and care for her parents regardless the hardship it brings upon herself.

Or we could just play Baby Einstein and Sesame Street.

If that's actually what he means (none of us can be sure since he really doesn't know how to be specific...) then it's pretty obvious... there are some great educational apps availiable on the iPad. Parents may want their toddlers to play around with them. I don't see what the problem is or what makes it so ridiculous.

As a father of two young girls I would never buy this and if anyone bought it for me I would return it.

You might be right and I am sorry. I just don't agree with those parents who shove an ipad to their kids to shut them up and keep them occupied instead of reading book to them.

We are ordering this for our newborn. My 2yo and 4yo each have their own iPad 4th gen.... The baby doesn't have his own but will use mine or the wife's. I think it's great!

@Googly2moogly I agree it's not good parenting to give something to a kid to shut it up. But that comment was way over the top

I've been passing my iPads down to my granddaughter since iPad1. She's very smart, loves reading and of course the Toca games activities. She also uses it for extra help with her grade 1 homework. (Yes grade 1 gets homework everyday).
An iPad is as helpful as You make it.
Don't judge because you can't put it down.
Kids still like to play. And by being introduced to technology young they won't get left behind. We know how fast it changes.
    GREAT IDEA!!

Why's everyone so butthurt? It's the Internet. I agree with him 100%. You shouldn't be a parent, if you consider using this.

This is for 3-9 month kids. Grade 1 is still 4 years away. Terrible idea. You'll burn their freaking eyes out. Just use the TV or read them a book. A child isn't a pet.

its the telling people to go kill them selves that I don't agree with, just because it's the internet shouldn't mean ****. think about how you want to be treated and treat other people in the same way

Edit: if you read my post, I actually agreed that it's bad parenting

I agree. This is for bad parents.
A good parent wouldn't give an iPad to their kids till they can already read and write. Be a good parent and be there for your kids first before shoving technology in their faces.
