Nokia, which like many other companies, has taken aim at the iPad in their marketing campaign once again. This time, Nokia’s new ad has an indictment against the iPad, pointing out that it will make you ignore your dog.

In their commercial, a woman walks her mutt to a place in a sunny park but is unable to simultaneously look at her iPad because the sun’s reflection makes the screen difficult to see. The woman retreats under a tree where for some reason the dog isn’t able to follow. In a silly ploy, the dog finds a new friend in a Lumia 2520 user who still ignores him in favor of his tablet but at least ignores him in broad daylight thanks to the Nokia device’s brighter display. The commercial’s strapline reads “Get out and play. The Nokia Lumia 2520 with full screen and best outdoor readability.”

Those of you interested in watching the ad can do so below:

There appear to be so many things wrong with the ad but it is hard to really complain as anti-Apple ads such as this one surface from time to time.

What do you think of Nokia’s efforts here?

It's an even worse stab towards Samsung displays. Seriously let me just go sit in the park and relax in the sun. I better bring a tablet in case we need pizza. They need to focus on highlighting more of their own products features to sell, not just one thing that many will find somewhat insignificant.

This isn't as bad as Samsung's latest ad where Douchy McRapey is on a ski lift with a strange girl and is able to score her number just by the fact that he has a Gear watch, and shortly thereafter she finds it cute, not totally creepy, that he is taking creeper photos and videos of her as she skis without knowing he's doing it.

I love the dream worlds in which these ads exist.

I love how for some reason the dog seems to hate being in the shade.

Also, ad people are surprisingly out of tune sometimes, even though they are paid to be in tune with consumers.

That was sooo cute lol. Let's be honest though, iPad and iPhone displays just aren't easy to read in the sun. Idk how nokia's is, but I liked the ad.

Companies taking a dig at each other is nothing new. But a reputed company like Nokia should not be doing it.
