Apple on Tuesday, alongside a new battery case for the iPhone 6/6s and an iOS 9.2 software update, has also released a new Lightning to SD card adapter that allows users of iPads or iPhones to pull photos from an SD card and put them into their photo library on their device.

The new adapter is reportedly capable of USB 3.0 speeds on the iPad Pro, which was a notable feature pointed out not too long ago. This means that those using the iPad Pro to transfer media to and from the device will experience fast speeds much faster than USB 2.0, and will significantly improve wait times for larger files.

Despite the new accessory supporting the USB 3.0 speeds, Apple has not yet released other updated adapters for other purposes, so it's unknown whether or not the company will be refreshing other adapters in the near future as well.

The adapter retails for $29.00 on Apple's Web site at this link and is available to ship within 3-5 business days.
