    Hi all,

    Here you go. Max's page #1 LS mod from this post 'http://modmyi.com/forums/iphone-4-4s...ml#post6882800' with good old 4-day touch Yahoo forecast! Works great!

    Attachment 640593

    Download: https://www.dropbox.com/s/f80pqhab1j..._MAX.theme.zip

    Enjoy!

    P.S. I did do this fast as I am rather excited about it if you can't tell (I need a life ). So please give it a go and let me know if all is good or not? Thanks all! Now going to see if I can add a switch to config.js to increase forecast up to 10! days

    With all the work Ian and Dacal have been doing with Accuweather, it would be awesome if they still released the version where you have a choice of which weather source you wanted.....for everything......current conditions as well as forecast now.

    It would be a crying shame for all of that to go to waste
    Sweet bro. Thank you.

    If its cool I may pm you later for a little help if I can't get mine going??

    Any time bro - here to help!

    Fix any widget yourself

    Really easy to get things back up and running yourself with a 4-day Yahoo forecast (if that's what you want )....

    1) uncomment the lines discussed earlier in this thread to fix the "one-day forecast issue".
    2) If your Yahoo URL weather call line in UniAW6.js looks like this:

    var url="http://xml.weather.yahoo.com/forecastrss/" + zip + "_" + tempUnit + ".xml";

    UniAW6.0 for iph4 & iph5-lqmma1c.png

    ...then change it to this...

    var url="http://xml.weather.yahoo.com/forecastrss/"+zip+"&u="+tempUnit+"&d=5.xml";

    UniAW6.0 for iph4 & iph5-koxluza.png

    I've already received lots of PM's about the Yahoo line looking different for some people. If your your Yahoo URL weather call line in 'weather.js' or whatever other file your are using just looks like this:

    url="http://xml.weather.yahoo.com/forecastrss/"

    ...then you need to change this line which is just below the URL line:

    xml_request.open("GET", url+zip+'_'+varUnit+'.xml');

    to this...

    xml_request.open("GET", url+zip+'&u='+varUnit+'&d=5.xml');

    Done!!
    Hope that helps

    BTW - I would sincerely like to thank yuengling25 for bringing this to our attention

    **Thanks for the pics MJ

    Ugggghh.. I hate Yahoo. I don't want there to be a Yahoo solution. It's so innacurate for non-major cities. They even admit it..

    I may end up working with Ras to get an API and use a different service and just remake UniAW work for me with a different weather service. I'm at a point where I just don't trust Yahoo anymore and am tired of only ever seeing cloudy, and mostly cloudy for my hometown year around no matter what's happening outside - when all I have to do is enter Philly (12 miles away from my town as the crow flies) and see all different weather conditions on my screen that match what I see outside. Stick with Yahoo if you must. But I'm movin' on..

    When I get the code rewritten - I'll offer it to the gang here as an 'alternative' to Yahoo.
    We already have an accuweather solution, no need to recode anything. I think Ian will release it.

    I'm sure the fix for mine will be slightly different as I tried the above one with out success. I use different code than the majority (Dacal has tried to turn me lol) I'm just comfortable with it and understand what majority of it controls.

    Pm sent thanks again man

    Hey All! I apologize upfront if this is WAY OFF from the proper forum for this request...I posted on the GPS Based HTML forum etc and I keep seeing people directed here for help, so thought I'd try.

    I was hoping I could attach my LS (which uses the Yahoo weather, I think) for GPS - this is my favorite part of my phone and I haven't been able to get this to work since the GPS blip. I have gone in and installed the new MyLocation App from KOH and installed correctly, but I am not sure what to do next. I don't want to mess anything up, so before I dive in a play with some CODE per some instructions I have read, I would like to ask for someone who is smarter than me to please point me in the right direction of they wouldn't mind!!!

    The LS is below and I hope everything is available (as far as files go) for you to take a look. I can't begin to tell you how relieved and happy I will be if I can get this working again!!!

    Thank You in advance for helping!!!

    This will not deter us to find a new solution. Actually it makes me want one even more now!

    But it is going to be a Native solution, as it has always made the most sense!
    Exactly

    And almost there. Hopefully anyway

    Okay, I'm going to join the anti-yahoo debate. I have always found Yahoo to be very accurate. I live 10 miles from the nearest major town, at 200m in altitude and in between two of the UK's wettest moors and the report and forecast from Yahoo is spot-on most of the time with a marked difference between what's reported for my location and the major town. It would be fair to say I live in a rather unique and changeable weather area and Yahoo reports it very well. Also, when I'm driving around the South West of the UK, I also find Yahoo to be just as accurate. Granted the forecast can be off sometimes but that's due to the changeable weather we get in the SW of the UK, not Yahoo.

    Perhaps it's something to do with where you are, NewD. I've never been to Philadelphia so I can't comment on the accuracy of the weather. All I know is that it's not just the weather measurements that are affected in Philadelphia. Take the Eagles for instance. They appear to measure yards from the moment Vick starts running with the ball whereas in Chicago for example, where there is a more accurate system, they measure quality as it passes the line of scrimmage. New England has the same inaccuracies as well I think. Slightly off topic but it has to be said :-)

    Anyway, I'll be more than happy with whatever service Ian and Dacal and their supporting cast of regulars decide upon, they are the men and lady (MJ) who are in the know and I'm sure they will make a decision that suits the majority.

    I am just hoping King's alternative to Yahoo uses a different way to get our location. I know there is an issue with something on my phone and the way the GPS coordinates get passed to my GPS themes. They work sometimes, mostly not. The native weather app changes location as I go to a new location and am hoping that King's solution will work much more reliably for me. So looking forward to it.

    Hello!

    For the MPH and Centigrade fix I made a slight error which was producing long decimals in some wind speeds. It should be like this which will give you a round number:

    document.getElementById("wind").innerHTML = "" + obj.winddir + " - " + (Math.round(obj.windspeed*62/100)) + " " + "mph"; }

    Hello,

    Perhaps you could edit your code with the revised bit of maths I posted and let me know it is working okay for you with no long decimals. I've changed my location a few times to check and it's okay but if you can check too that will make me more confident its correct.

    Thanks
    New code works fine too. Just removed the decimal points. I never had issue with the old code in any of the locations (uk) I've been too so far.

    FYI, the new method does not use GPS from theyLocation app. It pulls directly from iOS.
