    Hi there!

    This is my first post, so forgive me if I am in the wrong place..

    I am in the final stages of completing a web base tool, I would like to know if there a simple method for creating an Icon that sits on the Iphone main UI area but acts as a bookmark, so that when a user clicks on the icon, there is no local app, the icon simply launches the web based tool (of course the user must have web access), kinda like binding a web based tool/service such as ebay.com or amazon.com to an Icon that sits on iPhone main UI - does this makes sense? is it doable without going into another development IDE or development cycle?

    Add these lines of code to your header (of cause needs image files too)

    Code:
    <meta name="apple-mobile-web-app-capable" content="yes" />
    <meta name="apple-mobile-web-app-status-bar-style" content="black" />
    This makes it open up as if it's a native app and changes the status bar from white to see through.

    Code:
    <link rel="apple-touch-icon-precomposed" href="icon.png"/>
    <link rel="apple-touch-startup-image" href="hacker.png"/>
    This adds a startup image (needs to be 460 not 480 like normal) and icon when saved to springboard (delete the precomposed if you need the iphone to round and shine it as that is for icons already made completely as they should be on springboard.)
