I guess I don't understand what Steve Jobs is talking about when he says " still preserve security on the iPhone "

I belive my iPhone is more secure now that it is jailbroken and a few jailbroken apps added for secure reasons than when it was not jailbroken.

Just my opinion is why Apple and Steve Jobs don't want iPhones jailbroken is that they want there profit from jailbroken apps and I don't see that happen.

I think that Steve Jobs just wants total control of what you can or cannot do with your iPhone. You know like ask him if you can do this or that to your iPhone.

I think Apple will soon start to face anti-trust issues.

Think about it at; the moment they are acting as a market regulator for the iPhone apps market and soon if not now there will be large unhappy software developer who will not be granted access and mount a legal challenge.

I think that once iphones become unlocked then the anti-trust arguments will get even stronger.

How does he need to chill? He was just stating his opinion. That could (or at least could have) very well happened. Apple is unpredictable at times, you can't exactly say what they'll do next.

    2 year bump....

his opinion was fun-filled beyond practical..apple is a well organized, leading company..mind it..they allow jail breaking but not support.it's not as though they couldn't have done..you are saying as if the timings hadn't been what it was what happened might have been even worse to apple.ain't it? :P
