There is a thing on ATT's site that allows you to check your usage. I am on the fence as to whether or not it's worth saving the $5 for me. I use more that 200 but way less that 2GB. Go to billing reports under Bill & Payments and you can create a custom report for usage. 90% of the time I'm on a WIFI network.

Glad I already have the unlimited data plan for my iPhone and iPad 3G. Seems shady to limit users to 2 GB

There is also a neat data calculator if you want to play around with what would happen if you used a lot more data.

I called AT&T before (2 months ago), their "unlimited" was always just 8GB. They said there is no way in hell that someone can go close to 8GB. So, by reading the new policy, the grandfathered "unlimited" will be changed to 5GB. Weaksauce. LOL.

If someone at AT&T told you 8GB, they flat out lied. It's always been 5GB from the get-go.

I wish they had that 15 dollar plan here cuz thats all i need. I got the 6gb one right now and only use like 150mb/month. Also, 20 bucks for tthering? Are they ****** retarded? Its free here with fido and rogers as long as you got 1gb+ plan

I don't understand the math behind the new plans. If we compare by the old unlimited plan, It's $5 cheaper to own the new (very-limited) data plan but $10 more if you need to raise the cap???

I think they would have been better doing a 1GB for $10, 2GB for $15 and then add the $10 per overage. I mean it costs them a measly $.14 per text (or something along those lines) They can re-adjust that number if needed. I believe all companies across the board really need to look at their margins and decide if a 150% gain is really more important that say a 125% gain and offering better service and rates. Have they not learned that they can charge less and make more simply on volume? How many of us really even use the "data" portion? I know that I run 90-95% of my data on various WIFI networks. There are so many here in the Philly area that I could probably get away with a touch, but then I'd have to carry a phone and that's just stupid!

It would be really messed up if they did this new price change, just to ease their bandwidths without doing the upgrades. I remember reading that AT&T is investing a lot of time and money to increase their bandwidth output. Maybe their "building plans" was to just raise the price, and hope users don't use the bandwidth that much. LOL.

You seriously can't wait until November.... Do you like getting screwed?

Full price or not, att will obligate you to sign a new 2 year contract for service. A new contract may require you to upgrade your existing account in order to support the new iphone.

Yeah, I forgot that I pay 30 a month now, I wad thinking I payed 15. I guess this is fine, I mean I use my iPhone a lot, but I am sure I'm not in that 2%. And if its by family, and we could spend 100 dollars on, like 9 GB, that saves us money from 120 a month, because my family doesn't use that much. This does suck for those who want to mywi tether to the iPad, though.
