From what I understand, this phone was practically hollow, with nothing inside to support the glass, am I right? If that's the case, it's not a good example.
CHA CHING.... EXACTLY what i was looking for before i said it myself! you guys need to think logically as well as take care of the things you buy. i can drop the beer im drinking right now and it will break. get over it man! things happen, NOTHING lasts forever, or better yet over a year looking 'like new'. its an expensive phone, and we just have to be careful.

i have a crack in my bumper on my less than one year old car, sucks for me, but i should have been more careful on what snow i drove over this past winter. catch my drift.

The reason this is on the front page is because MMI is actually an anti-Apple website now. We've decided apple sucks and this is how we're sticking it to the man.

(I have no idea why this thread exists)

These are just unproven rumors. If they tested it why didn't they post the video of it dropping and breaking? Apple showed a video of the screen itself bending. i'm not worried. This is just rubbish rumors to make news. Next!

The peps at iFixyouri just want their name in the news, nothing like free advertisement by hundreds of websites across the Net.

I can't speak for the 4g however I can certainly attest to the weakness of the 3G. I dropped it sitting on the train. Actually it fell from the seat to the floor (what is that, about 50cm or a foot and a half, not onto concrete but steel covered with hard plastic or whatever the train's floor is made of) and the case is cracked right by the mute switch. About 8mm in length. I am not that much concerned as I will be getting the 4G as soon as my contract runs out as the 3g is sooooooo slow, it infuriates me every day now.
    I want speed da*n it! :-)
But it is disappointing never the less.

What's a 4G and who makes it and what does it have to do with the iPhone 4?

Fake iPhone 4. Knock Off. Phony. Cheap Imitation. Not Real.

iPhone 4 not even released yet. If it's flexible, it shouldn't break so easily. Look at plexiglass. I'll take a look at a real drop test when the iPhone 4 is actually released.
But look at the downfall to plexiglass...Its scratches easier than a dog with fleas. As with everything, it has its ups and downs. Now LEXAN is where its at, hehe

Exactly. It's just a facade for advertising. Advertising is the devil! Lol in all seriousness though i've dropped my 1st gen a countless number of times. All you need is a hard/soft hybrid case.
I'm just waiting for someone to take a hammer to the back casing.

HOW ABOUT THlS DON'T DROP YOUR PHONE THEN IT WON'T BREAK

But seriously...you can buy a $10 case and call it a day, or you can just not. If you take the latter route then don't blame Apple when your phone slips out of your greasy hands.

Apple has no incentive to make an extra durable one because everyone will still buy them and if it breaks they will buy another one because there is nothing like an iPhone....mainly after it has been jailbroken.

I've also got a iphone 3g. You can speed it up by deleteing launch daemons and excess language packs. If ur gonna get a 4g, you can take the risk of VM mods too.

Apple products are very durable for what they are. Think about your old phones and how they looked after 2 years?
I have had the same 3g and it still looks great. I always kept screen protectors on it but, all in all it has held its own.

Some of my buddies that dont have iPhones, their phones look like garbage not even a year after they have had them. The plastic changes color, rubs off in certain places, and the font on their keys starts to fade.

I am not worried about this "fake" iPhone4 with a broken screen. Get a rubber case/screen protector and protect your investment!

Christ guys, please, read the article before commenting.

It's a strictly case design of the iPhone.
Whether it be real, or fake, take it for what it's worth and move on.

    Notice the makeshift components?
Wait until it comes out, and people are having hundreds of success stories of it dropping w/o cracking, and sob stories of them dropping it and it cracking.

    Bottom line-
Just buy a case if you're prone to drop it, if you're not prone at dropping it, don't worry about it..
