    I am a bit confused.

If i have a brand new 3GS from apple today, would I be able to unlock it?

How are people unlocking iOS 4.0 if there isnt even a jailbreak for it yet? This is whats confusing me.

If someone could clear that up for me itd be greatly appreciated.

    Thanks guys.
Because you can jailbreak an iPhone 3G and iPod Touch 2G which I believe then can be unlocked using apps in cydia, and you might be able to jailbreak, idk about unlock bc we have new bootroms in the new 3GS's, they changed them randomly during their sales. Though I'm sure the DevTeam is working with the new bootrom, as it should be assumed it could be used in iPhone 4.

    [SIZE="6"]hello guys

today when the iPhone 4 unlock came out I opened cydia to add ultrasnow's new repo to unlock. After adding it said that cydia needs to be updated so I tap on essential updates. During installation it got stuck at springboarb reloading. I got confused and after waitin for a long time I manually rebooted iPhone. After that the Apple logo appeared and stayed on for about 5 mins and than phone came into normal form but now cydia just doesn't installs anything. Either I try to upgrade or install any new app or even cydia isntaller new update it just doesn't installs and after the process show that it's still not installed. What should I do? I need to get it working cuz I need to unlock
i would rejailbreak it first and if that doesnt work start from
    the begining again

You've asked this 3 times now. It was answered on the top of Page 3 by this guy. vvvvv

Most people unlock to use their phone with TMobile, and TMobile's 3G band is not compatible with the iPhones.

Quit asking why we need to disable 3G. Seriously, I'm getting annoyed.

T-Mobile USA does NOT support the iPhone's 3G bands, so unless you want to waste battery, turn it off. You have always had to do this. This is nothing new.

T-mobile is not the only reason to disable the 3G. I am unlocked with Simple mobile and it works awesome. If anyone is looking for an alternative to AT&T and t-mobile, Simple is is the way to go.just last week they updated their plans to 60 bucks unlimited everything and 50 for 1g Internet, 40 if you don't want Internet. Yes, edge is slow but that's what we started with on the 1st iPhone.
I am not affiliated with Simple Mobile, I just dig the plans and AT&T sucks with their nickel and dimming you for everything. Shoot I used to pay about 250 for unlimited everything with AT&T and now I save big bucks. I am even able to pay for myfi with verizon for my 3G anywhere service (great for the wifi iPad).
Keep up the awesome works devs, can't wait for both iPhone 4 ios 4.

I have noob question. I tried to update to iOS4 GM with redsn0w jailbreak. But my iPhone stuck on emergency call screen, I think everyone allready seen screen like this. Of course iphone told me to insert correct sim card (ATandtT?) So this all means I need unlock my baseband, BUT how can I unlock baseband if I can get into iOS 4 itself? Please be patien and give me a simple explanation, I know I am very very foolish noob:-))
Your going to half to have an AT&T Sim!

It can be from anybodys phone or new one just as long as it is a good sim!

You can get a new one of them off eBay for about $4 or $5 shipped!

You need to get one as anytime you restore you will have to use the AT&T sim first off!

Blacberry plan is not compatible with the iPhone. Just contact t-mobile and have them cancel the BB plan and give you unlimited PDA internet plan.
