Why is that such a naive thing to believe?

Considering that the signal issue has been around since the original iphone in 2007, I have a feeling that Apple is going to take a fine tooth comb to it and make sure they get it right this time. Throw in the fact that they will most likely address the problems with the proximity sensor as well as any other issues and reported bugs and it could definitely take a few weeks for them to finalize the update.

Why would you think Apple is playing the waiting game with the jailbreak community? Didn't they learn anything from the 3.1.3 bait that they tossed out to the community this spring? Did any devs waste an exploit on that? Nope, I don't think so.

No need to yell... While this may be true. the fact of the matter is people talk. And a great deal of info that gets leaked comes from the "little guy". Regardless if this is true or not. History shows that Apple and the dev team play this game every release.

I agree. Time for all iPhone 4 users to write/call Apple to complain.

If Apple were smart, they'd just break something else in the update and then they'd have an excuse to release another update to fix it after JB is out :P Not that they ever need any excuse for a new update (3.1.3).

I agree with this also. They are busy fixing 4.0 bugs. I remember with Microsoft's DOS days, it was known not to get DOS 2.0 or 3.0 - but soon as you put a .1 in there everything worked great. Stay away from any software that is .0 It would be silly of Apple to prolong the release of 4.01/4.1 - They could always come out with 4.02/4.2 a few weeks later with the jailbreak patch if they wanted to.

The truth be told. Apple could really care less about the jailbreakers. Because it *IS* thier PR. It means that Apple gets more and more popular. I just bought me a nice iMac 21 inch system. All my life I have always used IBM compatable systems, Took the plung to have me a nice toy. But anyways, Play the game and be the mouse and let apple chase.
