    don't update to this release if you rely on jailbreak. It contains new baseband.

    Actually, comex has said in his Twitter last week that he is not waiting for 4.1 to be released officially. He will be releasing once he is finished. And he IS a part of the dev team

    I can't wait for 4.1. I'm sure they'll have the prox fix in it. And with my bumper on the way to my door as of this morning, I can worry a little less about dropped calls.

    Maybe this firmware has plans to install cydia as standard after the new legal ruling haha, if only just seems like apple wanting to make a new baseband to render ultrasn0w inaffective... For now!

    I think I'll take the plunge and update to 4.0.1 to save those blobs as well. Already saved 4.0. Just to be safe.
    Question on this, do we actually need to be on 4.0.1 to save our shsh blobs for it with either cydia or tinyumbrella?? Reason i ask: i am on 4.0.. Havent upgraded to 4.0.1 .. But my cydia says i got shsh blobs saved for both.. Just curious

    P. S. I get that he's talking about iphone4 and it makes sense but still with other devices.. Is it so that we dont really need to be on 4.0.1 to save the blobs for that??

    4.0 & 4.0.1 are the same exact thing, except the algorithm used to show your signal has been modified (bars look different). If you backed up your shsh blobs on 4.0, you do not have to do so on 4.0.1 (because it's the same thing). If this doesn't help, try Google. Google is your friend!

    If Apple wanna try prevent ppl jailbreaking iOS4 and iPhone 4. All they need to do is say they're working on 4.2 now. Dev Team might not wanna release jailbreak if they think new iOS is coming. lol

    What's useful for me is this bit:

    * Full Bluetooth AVRCP Support.

    According to bluetooth device users running iOS 4.1, the updated iOS is now fully AVRCP compatible. AVRCP is the mechanism which allows bluetooth headsets, or car dashboards to take full control of the audio functions of the devices they are connected to. Up until this release, users who paired their iPhones to their car to listen to music over bluetooth, needed to control playback via the iPod app. Now, with this full implementation of the bluetooth protocol, users can use the playback switches on their supported cars and headsets.

    This new feature reportedly supports skipping forward, back, and volume. Prior to this beta, only volume control was accessible on third-party bluetooth devices. This is a nice addition to the operating system, and it furthers Apple's push of safety. Instead of having to use their phone while driving to control their music, users can simply use their bluetooth headset or the controls built into their vehicles.
    For those of us with hands free car kits it is currently a nightmare. September can't come fast enough for me.

    confirmed , the exploit used for ultrasn0w0.93 has been completely dismissed from 05.14.01 , 3g & 3gs unlockers NEVER go past 4.0.1

    It's not ready yet, they aren't holding onto it or waiting to release for any reason. It'll be out when it's done, and they are all working very hard to complete a free piece of software for you.

    this better address the proximity sensor cause I'm tired of calling Guam from my pocket or choosing a new ring tone when I'm on a call.

    Seriously my biggest problem with the iPhone 4. Not a huge issue with the "death grip" for me but not being able to sit on a call for more than minutes without my cheek hitting a button.

    The jailbreak exploits a hardware flaw in the system, not software. Once the exploit is found, its only a matter of comparing file differences in the subsystem between jailbreaks.
