I wrote to Apple complaining that they can't support my app if it's not in the store and they credited my account or $1.99. Does that money come from the developer? If so, I'll send it to them direct. If not - woo hoo!

that money does come from the developer, and apple chargers the dev the 30% they lost refunding you. so out of $1.99, you dev got paid $1.39, but now has to pay apple back the full 1.99

Edit:that was my understanding, but i'm not 100% sure about apple taking the extra 30% back from the dev to preserve their own profits.

All they have to do is remove that part and the app can sell again. It's not banned AFAIK.

Wow there's a lot of money to be made by developers it seems. Unless, that is, they develop something that subverts the original functionality of the idevice.

Wouldn't it have been better for Apple to just make Tap tap tap have the volume button shutter as a setting in the app that was off by default. Saves the majority Apple's customer base from getting confused while allowing those who want the function to have it.

Is there anyway to obtain the app if we don't have it?
Maybe on apptrackr if you dont mind the piracy stigma. I typed "camera+" into the search and found 90+ apps. It might be one of those, I cbf to go through them.

For those that do not know ... Camera+ is back.

There's a HUGE list of updates, but the most important one obviously has been removed. You can no longer use the volume buttons for snapping pictures -- and unfortunetly SnapTap via Cydia doesn't work with it either.

However, with the list of updates, it has officially taken over as my default camera app ... still no video though.

Stock camera is still the fastest one anyway.

User confusion? Because people adjust the volume while trying to take a picture?
Not to mention the iPod and other music apps shut down after the camera app is activated. I guess they don't want me to accidentally change the volume on my muted music and all.
