You shouldnt get a black screen if you unlock your iphone manually yourself first. Make sure the iphone screen is on and at the home screen before you connect.

Also make sure you're using the recommended VNC Client not something else.

Except for the resolution mismatch of my iPhone 4, I can type on my iphone via pc keyboard/vnc just fine. Yours doesnt work? Are you using RealVNC as the client?

I've seen video tuts on youtube that use it, and its really choppy. I'd rather go outside and go on my phone.

Are you using an iPhone 4? That would explain the huge window because the screen resolution is so high

This isn't exactly a 'problem'. The display on your 3GS is considerably lower than your 4. But, I think we'll find that you're the only person complaining about the better resolution, so I bet the feature will remain as is. Maybe there will be a scaling option some day, but I don't imagine much need for it. Sorry bub.

Yeah this isn't useful at all until the mis-match resolution of iphone 4 is fixed in the next Veency update. (which is hopefully being worked on some day)

I LOVE this! It works amazingly on my 3GS with 4.0 firmware. And I already have a local network with MyWi so I can use this easily

I just wish there was a way to reduce that lag. It's a limitation of the VNC protocol though, from what I've read.

Its not an issue with veency. Its your computer screen. Its resolution is low compared to your iphone.

Not sure if this is a bit off topic.

I also swear by Notify Pro. (Check it out in Cydia) Also the develop offers great support. It works using push notifications and growl. so when you phone gets a email, PUSH MESSAGE, MMS, SMS, CALL OR VOICeMAIL, Notify Pro will forward the notification to Growl on your Mac. If you use a service like Howl or Prowl you can then have your mac forward the growl notification as a push message to another Mac. or ios Device. I use it to send notifications to my iPad and Macs at work and home

I also use Veency. I find it more responsive now due to I4'S Wifi 802 N.

Looks like if you got this far you have set everything up correctly.

    Here's some possible troubleshooting steps.

I would suggest looking at the display settings or options of the vnc viewer you are using.

Or try using a different VNC viewer. A respiring or restart of your iPhone may also help.

Finally. Check your firewall is not blocking some part of the connection.

None helped, can you recommend a VNC viewer?

I found out that, oddly, if you press the win key plus another key with the viewer open, it unlocks the iPhone without turning on the screen. So you can open apps or do anything without anything showing up on the screen of the iPhone.

Not only that, but the win key + another button bypassed my android lock entirely.
