What is the difference between this tool and the one Pushfix released? I was told it is that untracked has the daemon, while Pushfix's release does not.
    Which one is better?
The pushfix.info tool sends EVERYTHING to the bit bucked (aka: /dev/null). untrackerd retains the database but periodically deletes most of the records.

I got it like 5 min after it was added! I heard the story on infowars talk radio, and was like " there needs to be a tweak for this"! I am also eagerly awaiting a tweak that fries the police "steal all your info" computer, that they can attach to like 3000+ phones! I feel that if they wanna violate my fourth amendment, then I reserve the right to fight back! If no app comes out for it, then I will just fill up my phone with "shock imagery" to screw their heads up!
What the heck are you talking about? When the police search your computer, they already have a warrant and the right under the laws of this country to do so. They aren't violating your rights in any way. Additionally, stop being paranoid. Unless you're involved in CP, financial crime (pirating movies, music, and software doesn't count, that's a civil matter and they don't care about it), or other more important crime, they don't care about you in the least.

The real question is what does Apple intend on doing with all the data collected?
Same thing that Google and Blackberry do when they capture the exact same data in addition to your cell phone provider. They sell it to marketing companies that use it to find trends, etc. Everyone does it. Seems funny that it's such a surprise to people suddenly as it's been going on for years. Google tracks your every move across all of their sites and to other's sites. They then sell that information to others and use it themselves. Facebook, Twitter, you name it, they all do it.

Michigan state police have a computer they are hooking up to people's cell phones during traffic stops that downloads the entire contents of your phone, it's ridiculous.
I guess I am missing something here.

Say I get pulled over because my break light is out they just ask me for my cellphone and hook it up to a computer in there squad car and download the phone's contents?

    How are they justifing this?

FYI: I'm on a 3GS and installed the pushfix tool. During my testing, when I set Location ON, the phone would occasionally freeze for 3-4 seconds. The developer tested on an ip4. Maybe there's a connection, maybe it's me.

I then changed to untrackerd and have not noticed any freezing. Total test time evenly split between the two: about 12 hours.

    Your mileage may vary.

Through a very quick Google search (read: 20 seconds) I found the following article, that completely debunks what you said.

"The DEDs are not being used to extract citizens' personal information during routine traffic stops."

    Good to know, thanks

On Wednesday the police released a statement outlining how its employees are supposed to use DEDs. Police must hold a search warrant, or obtain consent from the mobile device holder, before using the DED to extract mobile data. Furthermore the DEDs can only be used by "specialty teams on criminal cases, such as crimes against children," the statement read.
