An all-new version of the Fourquare iOS app was released, which includes a complete revamp of the features provided to its users. The new version (version 5.0) is much simpler and cleaner than the previous versions and even goes as far as taking on some of the functions previously found in the tab bar along the bottom. This new addition makes features such as checking-in much faster and easier than before.

There is also a new reworked Explore tab, which lets users search near their location for interesting locations in several categories such as restaurants and locations with special deals for checking in. It even automatically sorts them by proximity to your current location. This specific tab will also show locations in your area that are popular as well as locations that your friends have visited, along with places that may interest you based on your check-ins in previous businesses or locations. This whole list of suggestions will be plotted on a map so that users can find their way easily to their destination.

The new update here doesn’t seem to put much emphasis on the Radar feature, which was previously one of the highlights of the app. This feature actively grabs your location while running in the background and alerts you if you find yourself near a popular place or a spot that you want to remember to visit. Regardless though, the new update should please many Foursquare users.

Didn't Foursquare just get into some deep dung for giving out people's passwords?
