Well the first iPhone 5 unboxing photos hit the web tonight.

Apparently while the rest of us anxiously await Friday, or two weeks from Friday, or brave the lines at your local retailer, some lucky schmuck got his/her hands on the iPhone 5 early. The pictures donít reveal any surprises. Appleís minimalist packaging is still impressive, and the EarPods have what appears to be a plastic case.

Sadly there isnít a free 30-pin adapter. I mean how expensive could it really be? So the contents still include charger, lightning cable, micro-fiber cloth, and EarPods. Remember when Apple used to ship a dock with their iPod? I donít. But, I wish I did.

Expect our review as soon as we can get our grubby mitts on the device. Iíll be crisscrossing the country (business trip in Tennessee) with the phone next week, and will be running a week-long series cataloguing my experience with the new phone. This of course hinges on me securing an iPhone at the local Apple Store Friday.

It looks that way because it still has the protective plastic on it. It's the normal iPhone logo but raised a bit.

You mean the 30 pin to lightning adapter? That price is correct although overpriced I think. I just ordered another lightning cable instead since its $20. I'm sure there will be plenty of cheaper aftermarket adapters coming out soon.

This phone is going to suck. No one realizes it now but once it's out for a little they will. Trust me. I thought it was cool that droid had different size screens but it sucked because the apps only worked with certain screen sizes and that's exactly how it'll be for iPhones soon. Just you iPhone 5 users watch and be "amazed" when apps look terrible on it this Friday.

Well the App Store app devs seem to keep up with iOS updates pretty well. I'd imagine they'd do well to keep up with the changes in the screen size. A lot of apps were updated wonderfully when the retina devices came out. Some devs don't update their apps, sure, but there are more that do than don't.

I don't know about Android, but I do know many of my apps I used to use on my iPhone 3G were updated for retina display when I got my iPhone 4. Some took longer than others but it was worked out.

What a terrible, non thought out post...
4" screen will become the new standard for apps. Soon enough the iPhone 4 will be phased out of updates, then the 4s.
This is going to be no different than the retina display...

Why not order the phone on the online store?? It took me 10min to order in bed @ 3:00am est time, and FedEx will bring it to me on the 21st. After 4 years, I'm DONE waiting hours on a retail line, don't know what I was thinking!!!
