Apple maps have worked great in all parts of california for me. No issues here. Street view has always been a useless feature for me

StreetView has always been feature I have used a lot. Unless this comes back to iOS I am unlikely to stick with the iPhone - although it was always better on the iPad and there doesn't seem to be any viable alternative to that. Yet.

I love Maps. I haven't had any problem or have I ever got lost. It always took me to the correct location.
One feature I really didn't like is that it will show information in the local language on the map of the location on the map. For example, I was in Greece two weeks for work. I had wifi at the hotel and office but, i disabled data roaming over 3g. The new maps was good in that it cached a large chunk of map data so that it was still usable even without an active data connection. However, it displayed all the street and location names in Greek even though my settings are all English (and my iPhone and I are from the US). So if I did an address search for '13 eptalofou' north of Athens, it would go 'can't find it'. However, if I searched for '13 επταλόφου' then it would find it. And if I searched for named places (hard rock cafe) it would find it but say it was down teh road in the wrong direction.

Not very helpful. I used the web version of google maps most of the time.

They should have bought rights to use Garmin Maps. They're awesome! I use them on my Kenwood headunit in my truck

Garmin is perfect for the Continental US (considering they use NavTech).

I think they went with Tom Tom more because of our neighbors over seas.
